Noctua isThey have officially announced the compatibility of their CPU coolers with AMD Ryzen 7000 series / Socket AM5 motherboards.

According to Noctua, all of their CPU coolers that support AM4 motherboards will support AM5 motherboards, with the exception of the NH-L9a, NH-L9a-AM4, and NH-L9i.

AM4 motherboard compatible models (SE-AM4) purchased following January 2019 and Noctua multi-socket coolers can be used with AM5 motherboards as they are.

For products purchased before January 2019, the companywebsiteBy applying, you can receive an upgrade kit (retention kit) free of charge. When applying, proof of purchase (receipt, etc.) of the CPU cooler, AM5 / AM4 CPU, AM5 / AM4 motherboard is required. Also, it may take up to 2 weeks to arrive. If you need it urgently, we advise you to purchase an upgrade kit that is sold separately.

Products purchased before January 2019 that already use the NM-AM4 or NM-AM4-UxS kits can be used with the AM5 motherboard as is.

The low-profile CPU coolers NH-L9a, NH-L9a-AM4, NH-L9i and the mounting kit NM-AM4-L9aL9i are not currently compatible with AM5 motherboards, but from the end of October 2022. An upgrade kit “NM-AM5-L9aL9i” compatible with AM5 will be available. The package including “NM-AM5-L9aL9i” from the beginning is scheduled to be shipped from around Q1 (January to March) 2023. The NH-L9i-17xx cannot be used because it is designed for the Intel LGA1700 motherboard.
