A multidisciplinary medical caravan was organized over the weekend for the benefit of the inhabitants of the rural commune of Ouled Mataa in the province of Al Haouz, at the initiative of the Global Family Association.
Initiated in partnership with the Ait Chtia-Agadir Association for Rural Development, and the Provincial Department of Health and Social Protection of Al Haouz, this solidarity and humanitarian action has benefited more than 600 people from the Ait-Agadir douar. Chtia-Agadir (rural commune of Ouled Mataa), who were able to benefit from medical consultations and the distribution of medicines free of charge.
Supervised by a medical staff made up of specialist doctors, nurses, pharmacists and paramedical technicians, this Medical Caravan focused on a range of services covering curative care in general and specialist medicine (ophthalmology, gynecology, paediatrics, etc.).
For Mounir Bouhiaoui, president of the Global Family Association, “this caravan has set itself the objective of making up for the shortcomings observed in terms of health care provision in this rural town, by bringing medical services closer to the local population, in particular the poorest categories. most disadvantaged (children, women and the elderly).
For his part, Youssef Ourrache, vice-president of the Ait Chtia-Agadir Association for Rural Development, indicated that this action with a strong humanitarian impact, the first of its kind in the rural commune of Ouled Mataa, contributed to facilitate access to care and to prevent disadvantaged local populations from having to travel to health centers in a province renowned for the predominance of rural and mountainous areas.
It should be noted that the caravan concerned a multitude of specialties, in particular ophthalmology, paediatrics, gynecology and general medicine, while paying particular attention to the screening of chronic diseases.
