The English Football Federation (FA) opened proceedings once morest Cristiano Ronaldo this week. The cause? The Lusitano threw away the mobile phone of an autistic youngster last April, following the 1-0 defeat once morest Everton.
Reacting to the move by the FA, Sarah Kelly, the young Everton fan’s mother, said she hoped the Portugal international was properly punished.
“Let’s wait until he [Ronaldo] finally be punished as it should be. He can’t keep getting away with this. His behavior is unacceptable. He should have taken care of what he did six months ago. My son talks regarding what happened to him every day and he still hasn’t gotten his phone back,” the mother told English newspaper The Mirror.
“He should have paid for it. He’s the one who caused all this. How can he attack a child and continue to live normally? How can you sleep at night knowing the anguish this caused a young fan? »continued Sarah Kelly, who claimed to have been informed by the police that Cristiano Ronaldo paid a fine of 200 pounds.
Still, the mother complains that she didn’t receive a sincere apology from the Portuguese.
“He invited us to meet him and told us he was sorry but he had done nothing wrong. It’s not an apology, it’s an insult.”she concluded.
