(Archyde.com) – French businessman Stephane Courbit and his financial partners have offered 20 euros a share to take over RTL’s parent company Bertelsmann’s stake in television group M6, the Bloomberg news agency reported on Sunday. .

The offer represents a 39% premium to M6’s closing price on Friday at 14.43 euros and values ​​the 48% stake at around 1.22 billion euros.

According to Bloomberg, the Czech businessman, Daniel Kretinsky, has also made an offer for the stake in M6.

Archyde.com was unable to immediately reach Stéphane Courbit for comment. RTL declined to comment, while M6 did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Archyde.com reported this week that a consortium comprising Stéphane Courbit, CMA CGM CEO Rodolphe Saadé and businessman Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière was in pole position to take over the 48% stake in M6.

Sources familiar with the matter told Archyde.com on Friday that Italian television group MediaForEurope has teamed up with Xavier Niel, the founder of Iliad, to submit a non-binding offer to buy RTL Group’s stake in M6.
