Patriots – Ravens (26-37): Lamar Jackson gets angry at New England

The quarterback delivered another capital performance to bring home the victory for Massachusetts.

New England Patriots (1-2) – Baltimore Ravens (2-1) : 26-37

And if Lamar Jackson (18/29, 218 yards, 4 TDs and 1 INT + 11 races, 107 yards and 1 TD) had reached the fullness of his talent? Often placed in the category of quarterbacks only runners or in that of those who cannot reconcile the two, the number 8 of Baltimore is perhaps in the process of proving the opposite. So not everything was perfect, like his interception for example, but his performance has something to praise.

Mac Jones, for better or for worse

5 touchdowns, including 4 on the pass and 1 on the ground. In its wake, Baltimore scores a well-deserved, albeit contested, victory. Winning at Foxborough is a small feat for the Ravens, passing 37 points to that defense too. On the New England side, the Patriots only held two and a half quarters. The locals experienced this match to the rhythm of the performance of Mac Jones (22/32, 321 yards and 3 INTs + 5 races, 31 yards and 1 TD). For the best first with his touchdown on the run and his good connection with DeVante Parker (5 receptions for 156 yards). For the worse then as evidenced by these 3 interceptions and these few drives at the end of the match that Bill Belichick’s men failed to conclude.

Yet at the start of the game, the game is balanced. As proof, at the end of the first 30 minutes only a small point separates the two teams (13-14). The Ravens light the first fuse on a 5-yard pass from Lamar Jackson to Mark Andrews (8 receptions, 89 yards and 2 TDs). Mac Jones responds with the first rushing touchdown of his career and the Pats are still in the game. Better, they even take the advantage as soon as they return from the locker room. A 75-yard drive concludes with Damien Harris on the ground (20-14).

Character Ravens

The moment chooses for Jim Harbaugh and his quarterback to accelerate. On the next three drives, Baltimore will pass a 17-0 to his opponent. Two touchdowns and a field goal orchestrated perfectly by Lamar Jackson. New England will try to come back, but it’s too hard for this attack. Despite a touchdown on the run from Rhamondre Stevenson, the offensive squad can’t do it anymore. It’s not for lack of opportunities. There are 4 drives in this second half that might have put the locals in front or brought them back to equality. Three of them ended in turnovers.

In the end, Baltimore leaves with a sense of accomplishment, even if the defensive largesse is not quite settled. The fact remains that this team has character and shows it every week. This is also the case for the Patriots who, however, seem to be short of talent to compete for 60 minutes in this kind of meeting.
