The beta of Call of Duty Modern Warfare II in September
What would the release of a new Call of Duty be without the arrival of a beta? The process is now well oiled and while waiting for the release of Call of Duty : Modern Warfare II on October 28, 2022, the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 beta will take place in September. First Weekend (PlayStation Exclusive)
- Early Access: September 16-17, 2022
- Open Beta: September 18-20
Second week-end (PlayStation, Xbox et PC en cross-play)
- Early access: September 22 to 23, 2022 from 7 p.m.
- Open beta for everyone: September 24 to 26 from 7 p.m.
How to Access the Call of Duty Modern Warfare II Beta
Only players who pre-ordered Call of Duty Modern Warfare II will be guaranteed early access to the game’s beta with priority given to PlayStation players.
After the early access period, PlayStation, Xbox and PC players will also be able to play the Modern Warfare 2 beta without having pre-ordered the game. Check the calendar above to find out when you can play this beta depending on your profile and platform. .
Call of Duty Modern Warfare II is scheduled for release on October 28, 2022 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC as well as Xbox Series X|S and PS5.
How to grab the Call of Duty Modern Warfare II beta code
If you pre-ordered Modern Warfare 2 Digitally, you don’t need a code. People who pre-ordered the game from PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store or Battle.net do not need to redeem a code. You are automatically registered for early access to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Open Beta on PlayStation, Xbox, Battle.net on PC or Steam on PC. When the Beta starts, you can immediately download it.
If you pre-ordered Modern Warfare 2 in physical edition, the code for early access to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Beta will, in most cases, be printed on your receipt or sent by email or available on your received online. If you didn’t receive a Beta early access code or can’t find it, contact your reseller.
Where do I enter the beta access code?
If you have a Modern Warfare 2 Beta access code, you must enter all 13 characters (example: XXXX-XXXXX-XXXX) for Beta early access at this page to activate the beta code.

Beta Size
The Modern Warfare 2 beta weighs 25.3 GB on PlayStation 5 and 34.4 GB on PlayStation 4. We imagine that the weight of the files to download will be quite similar for Xbox.
Modern Warfare 2 Beta Content
The Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 beta includes standard 6v6 games on small maps, as well as some on larger maps that the developers call “Ground War”. Here are the game modes available:
- Team Deathmatch
- Domination
- Hardpoint
- Search and Destroy
- Knock Out
- Prisoner Rescue.
Note that the Ground War type maps offer the standard Domination mode, but also the new Invasion, which is more like a TDM.
6v6 modes will be available on four maps:
- Valderas Museum
- The Souls Market
- Hôtel Breenbergh
- Breenbergh Hotel
Both Ground War modes are available on a single map: Sarrif Bay.
XP gained during Modern Warfare 2 beta
Experience gained in Open Beta will not carry over to the final game upon release.
Rewards obtained with the Modern Warfare 2 beta
A total of 10 rewards are up for grabs by playing the beta. They are unlocked by reaching the appropriate level. The first five are available during the first weekend (level cap 15) while all of them will be obtainable during the second weekend, which will have a level 30 cap.
