I wrote – Yasmine El-Sawy:
A woman was born with a rare condition, which occurs in only one in a million, in which her shoulders can meet due to her lack of collarbones.
Danielle Lewis, 33, lives in Cannock, Staffordshire, and has been suffering from cranial dysplasia since birth, a rare genetic condition that affects the teeth and bones, and may affect the spine, skull, collar bones and legs.
Lewis didn’t have collar bones, which caused quite a stir on social media when she showed off her ability to apply her shoulders together.
Lewis said that only 17 families in the world have this gene, and they all meet once a year. I also suffer from joint pain, short extremities, and a protruding forehead.”
Lewis is married and has 3 children, Robbie Angel, 13, Lily Grace, 12, and Max Thomas, 6, all of whom inherited this rare condition.
“People are so shocked when they see us shoving our shoulders together, it’s not every day you see someone who can do it, and they always want to try it out for themselves because they think they’ll be able to do it too, and that makes us laugh,” Lewis explained.
She continued, “I wish my children would not inherit this gene because I was bullied sometimes in my childhood, this condition also affects my teeth and I had to have surgery when she was 11 years old to remove all my teeth and wait for new teeth to appear, but I have crooked teeth now.”
She stressed, “Over the years my skin has thickened, and now I don’t care what people think of me, and I want my children to live a free and happy life, and not feel the same way I did.”
