Auvergne Rhône Alpes. The monkeypox epidemic continues to decline

The latest update on the monkeypox epidemic reported, as of September 20, 3,943 confirmed cases in France, including 2,403 in Île-de-France and 259 confirmed cases in Auvergne Rhône-Alpes.

In the region, 68% of cases (176) are listed in the Rhône department.

Symptom onset dates range from May 12 to September 10, 2022.

No serious form in the region

In the region, the number of reported cases, which has been falling since mid-August, has been less than 10 over the past four weeks (consolidation in progress over the past two weeks).

Most of the confirmed cases in the region are male, except for three (1.1%) females.

All confirmed cases are adults, with a median age of 35. No serious form and no death have been reported to date in the region, specifies Public Health France in its weekly bulletin of September 22.
