the coastal town presented it this Friday, “we wanted to let it be known” (video)

Since the 1980s, the municipality had as its logo a sun sinking into a wave. “Because Knokke-Heist is a modern seaside resort that values quality, we wanted to convey this visually by updating our logo,” De Groote said.

The new logo consists of the name “Knokke-Heist” and a fan-shaped emblem with five branches. Each of them representing the five entities of the municipality: Heist, Duinbergen, Knokke, Le Zoute and the Polders, each having their specificity, specified the mayor.

“The new logo is also a nod to the old one: the setting sun can still be recognized in it,” said Piet De Groote. The logo has been visible since Friday in the streets of Knokke-Heist, but also on the official websites and on the social networks of the municipality.
