National MP Jackson Ause promised Thursday, September 22 in Bunia (Ituri), that he would hold the Congolese government responsible if the latter fails to restore peace in this part of northeastern DRC.
“The government being informed of everything that is happening in this province on the security level, and on the whole decision-making process, I think that if it does not take courageous decisions, all the responsibilities will continue to fall to it. “, he indicated Thursday in Bunia, at the end of the consultations carried out by the Prime Minister, Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde with the different layers of the population.
For this elected official from the territory of Irumu and member of the political group “Together for the Republic”, the government must support the provincial military authorities to bring the ongoing peace process to a successful conclusion, the achievements of which are visible. He cites in particular the signing of acts of commitment by certain armed groups who say they are ready to lay down their arms.
“We as guardians, witnesses, we will continue to follow up on everything the population has told us. Compared to the state of siege, an exceptional measure, as it produced what it was supposed to produce, I don’t think we can ask too much of it. The central government must come to the aid of the provincial government, in particular for the local armed groups which have signed the acts of commitment to complete the process until arriving at the process of laying down arms in order to allow the populations to return to their villages,” Jackson Ause said.
Regarding the activism of foreign negative forces operating in the DRC, MP Ause proposes military pressure to end their existence on Congolese soil:
“For foreign armed groups, it is necessary to organize military operations. This is also the responsibility of the central government through its services. At this stage, there is no loser or winner. But it’s the Republic that has to come out on top and I think that’s what’s important. We can’t procrastinate in this time, there have to be big decisions that have to be made.
