Fridays for Future calls for a climate strike

DThe Fridays for Future (FFF) movement is also calling for action for more climate protection this Friday in Lower Saxony and Bremen. 3,000 demonstrators are expected in Bremen, a police spokesman said. The demonstration starts at the Osterdeich and ends with a rally on the Bürgerweide. The police advise motorists to drive around the inner city area. In Hannover The organizers are expecting around 2000 participants.

Fridays for Future had called for a global “climate strike”. In Germany alone there are said to be protests in more than 200 cities, including in Wolfsburg, Göttingen and Oldenburg. The call is supported by many nature and environmental protection associations. Fridays for Future calls for renewable energies to be “radically expanded” and a consistent traffic turnaround to be implemented quickly.
