Woman dies in custody: Protest continues in Iran – Iran Riot

Tehran ∙ The protest that broke out in Iran in protest once morest the death of a young woman in police custody entered the 7th day. The unofficial estimate is that 9 people were killed in police firing. According to media reports, 17 people were killed in western Iran alone, including 2 security personnel. The agitation spread to 14 cities. Many people were arrested.

The death of a Kurdish woman, Mahsa Amini (22), who was arrested by the police on the 13th in Tehran for not wearing a hijab, sparked a national protest. This is the biggest anti-government protest in the country in recent years.
