Two PEB officers are deprived of liberty for drug trafficking

The group of men was presented before the Fourth Control Court in Ciudad Bolívar, which issued the measure.

Four citizens, two of them officers of the Bolívar State Police (PEB), were deprived of liberty for alleged drug trafficking.

The men were charged for alleged involvement in the trafficking of 11 marijuana wrappers.

The custodial measure was issued by the Fourth Control Court of Ciudad Bolívar.

According to information from the Public Ministry, the quartet was accused of committing illicit trafficking in narcotic and psychotropic substances in the form of transport.

Both the civilians and the uniformed men were charged with criminal association and use of military clothing.

Detention

The police officers were captured on Wednesday, September 14, in the town of Maripa, in the Sucre municipality of Bolívar state.

Members of the Bolivarian National Guard gave the order to stop a driver to inspect the vehicle in which they were traveling.

In the routine check, the military commission found 11 packages of marijuana, with a gross weight of 10 kilos with 925 grams.

The drug was hidden in the spare rubber. Meanwhile, two bulletproof vests were stored in a sound box.

The four citizens were apprehended by officials attached to the Los Pijigüaos Checkpoint.

The case was made available to the Fifth Prosecutor of the Public Ministry of the entity, in the Angostura del Orinoco municipality.

Seclusion

According to data from the Public Ministry, the officials remain in custody at the headquarters of the Bolívar State Police. The other two subjects were transferred to the Ciudad Bolívar Judicial Confinement Center, known as the Vista Hermosa Prison.
