We knew that the Jazz would continue its great maneuvers following the departures of Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell. Bojan Bogdanovic was very regularly cited in the rumors and the Suns had an eye on him.
But The Athletic informs us that the winger will finally land in Detroit since he will be traded for Kelly Olynyk and Saben Lee.
Bojan Bogdanovic is a nice addition for the Pistons as he comes off an 18-point season average, and his long-range address should free up space for Cade Cunningham and company. His expiring contract and his value to a title-seeking franchise might also make him an asset at the upcoming February trade deadline. For the Jazz, this transfer saves nearly $6 million for the coming season and confirms once once more Danny Ainge’s desire to blow up the group and rebuild from scratch.
Who will be the next to move on the side of Salt Lake City? Jordan Clarkson? Mike Conley? The bets are open…
One thing is certain, there will still be movement since the Jazz have 18 players with a guaranteed contract, and the NBA authorizes 15. There are therefore three players too many, likely to be cut or transferred.
