It was born from the desire of the American car manufacturer Ford to create a popular car, the Mustang is today an iconic car highly sought following by collectors. Pierre Blond owns one, a little gem that he pampers. Before La Traversée de Nantes on Sunday September 25, in which he will participate as a volunteer, this Ligerian shares with us his passion for this model…

A Ford Mustang! Just let go of this name to immediately imagine yourself behind the wheel of a racing car on the beach of Deauville or in the streets of San Francisco. A man and a woman on one side of the Atlantic, Bullitt on the other, two legendary films and a star in the center, without glitter but with a lot of horses under the hood.

Like many, Pierre Blond is a Mustang lover but a fulfilled lover who dared to take the plunge and buy one directly imported from the United States. Not a spot of rust on the chrome, not a tear on the trim, his 1966 Mustang convertible with its 4.7 liter V8 engine, 225 DIN horsepower, 27 fiscal horsepower, is a little gem that has only a defect: its consumption. 15 liters per 100 kilometers without forcing. In these times of energy crisis and ecological concerns, it necessarily calms down!

But Pierre is passionate, a real one. And not just Mustangs. In his garage there is also a 1965 Volkswagen Beetle and a MG B GTboth less greedy.

Member of AVAS, the Association of Old Vehicles of Sorinières, Pierre will be present as a volunteer on the Traversée de Nantes on Sunday September 25th. While waiting to meet him with one of his cars, he tells us regarding his passion for the Mustang in our video…
