Darmstadt nurse is at the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii

Eit’s getting serious. On October 6th Joanna Tywczynski starts at the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii. Her flight leaves on September 28, and she will stay on the Big Island for twelve days. The 49-year-old from Darmstadt qualified for the triathlon classic at the Ironman in South Africa at the beginning of April. Your Hawaii project was a top secret for a long time. Only a friend and her two children, 22 and 23 years old, knew regarding it. “I had made it my goal to do something big in 2022,” she says.

The big one is Hawaii, every triathlete’s dream destination. She won her age group in South Africa and came fourteenth in the women’s competition. It took her 9:46:35 hours to swim 3.8 kilometers, cycle 180 kilometers and then run the marathon. She immediately booked the trip to Hawaii, just in time to get a good deal on flights and accommodation. The children fly with them, they were there in South Africa.
