A month ago, Daria Douguina, 29, was killed in a mysterious attack. Quickly, Russia blamed Ukraine, which denies any involvement. The 29-year-old is no stranger to the Kremlin. She is the theorist’s daughter Alexandre Douguine. Unknown or almost unknown in Europe, he is a leading figure in Russia and is close to Vladimir Putin.
This Wednesday, the Russian president made a very strong announcement regarding the war in Ukraine. In particular, he decreed a “partial” mobilization of 300,000 reservists, much more than the 190,000 soldiers deployed for the invasion of Ukraine in February, following a series of military setbacks in the Donbass and the Kharkiv region, in the east of the country. He also pointed the finger at Europe which is trying to “destroy Russia” and said he was ready to use “all means” in its arsenal once morest the West.
On Twitter, Alexandre Douguine reacted to these strong statements. “A very important decision has been made”he began. “All our unbearable and shameful sacrifices are not in vain. The State and the people are on the same side of the barricades. On the other, there is an absolute enemy (Editor’s note the West). The importance is not to lose his soul. Even in a fierce and brutal battle once morest a cruel adversary.”
For him, there are only three possible scenarios. “The first is a disaster scenario. All the Russian territories that have been conquered would be returned to Ukraine. This means the end of the regime. But also the end of everything and everyone. It is the end of the Russia. In fact, this scenario is described in detail in the official propaganda of the Ukrainians. It is the dream of the official leaders of kyiv, Russophobes and globalists.”
The second possibility would be a global catastrophe: the nuclear apocalypse. “Moscow is starting to seriously lose the war. It is possible that the country will decide to use nuclear weapons. This probability exists. Is anyone in Russia considering this possibility? Without a doubt. And I think the West underestimates this possibility too much. Europeans think it’s a bluff.”
Finally, the last scenario concerns that of a Russian victory. Unsurprisingly, this is the preferred scenario for Alexandre Douguine. “It would be a patriotic victory and the emergence of a holy war. It would lead to the end of Western civilization. This idea is the most important of the three.”
One thing is certain for the theoretician, he fully supports the decision of his president in relation to the mobilization of 300,000 reservists. “Ukraine devalues itself every day and is heading straight for a real world war.”
