For the magazine Gala, Patrick Sébastien gave a very long interview. The opportunity for the former PAF agitator to brew wide. “An unjust eviction, cancer, separation, in recent months I have taken everything in a rush,” he says for our colleagues.
This September 29, the one who notably animated “The greatest cabaret in the world” will release a book: “Live and be reborn every day”. He mentions in particular his kidney cancer, a disease he had never revealed. “In terms of health, it’s a beautiful tsunami that fell on me,” he continues. In the greatest secrecy, he was operated on and hospitalized. “Today everything is fine”, he assured, even if he “gained belly because his abs were cut for the operation”.
This is not the first time that Patrick Sébastien has been confronted with the disease. Twelve years ago, he was struck by skin cancer. “The look of a doctor on one of my moles saved my life. He told me to go and have it analyzed. It was skin cancer which, luckily, had not still metastasized. I’m not saying this to make myself feel sorry for myself, but to encourage people to get checked out.”
Without any taboo, the actor also mentioned the suicide that he “considered many times”. I often played with death, and I still continue every day, like with this cigarette that I have just lit”. While explaining that he “didn’t have the courage” because “You need it to take a gun and shoot”.
