Sharjah, September 21 / WAM / The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry stressed the importance of joint work with the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Dubai and the Northern Emirates to develop prospects for economic and commercial cooperation and to promote investment opportunities available in both countries in the various fields of trade, industry, tourism and services. This came during the introductory seminar organized by the Sharjah Chamber in cooperation with the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia on investment opportunities in Indonesia today at the Chamber’s headquarters, in the presence of His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and His Excellency K. Jandra Negara, Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director General of Sharjah Chamber, Ibrahim Rashid Al Jarwan, Director of Economic Relations Department, and Fatima Khalifa Al Mokarrab, Director of International Relations Department at the Chamber, along with a number of businessmen from major Indonesian and Emirati commercial and industrial companies.

The symposium reviewed the investment incentives offered by both sides, and discussed opportunities for partnership, cooperation, and concluding potential deals between business owners, and benefiting from the Emirate of Sharjah’s distinguished position as a gateway to display Indonesian industrial products and expand their spread in the region’s markets due to the emirate’s logistical and service elements that support this approach in addition to work. To enhance the exchange of visits and trade delegations between Sharjah and Indonesia on a regular basis.

Abdullah Al Owais stressed that the symposium reflects the depth of the economic and trade ties and relations existing between the two countries in general and with the Emirate of Sharjah in particular, and the tireless keenness on both sides to develop areas of positive cooperation and mutual investment and push them towards broader and broader horizons to serve the common interests between the two friendly countries.

Al Owais pointed out that the fields of bilateral work between the UAE and Indonesia are very diverse and are witnessing a great growth, especially in light of the comprehensive economic partnership agreement that was signed recently and the high volume of trade exchange between the two countries, which in 2021 amounted to regarding 3 billion dollars, stressing that this meeting represents An opportunity to invest in the strong strategic partnership between the two countries, especially in light of the competitive elements and the various investment opportunities owned by the Emirate of Sharjah and Indonesia. Advanced logistics, encouraging legislation and laws, and advanced infrastructure, while Indonesia is the largest economy in Southeast Asia, the 18th globally in terms of GDP, and enjoys a distinguished geographical location that allows easy flow of goods and services.

His Excellency K. Jandra Negara expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Sharjah Chamber for organizing this introductory symposium on investment opportunities in Indonesia, considering that the symposium represents an extension of the depth of the strong economic relations between the two friendly countries. The trade relations between the UAE and Indonesia via Sharjah…noting the possibility of arranging meetings for the chamber’s delegation with business owners in Indonesia and organizing visits to factories and companies in some regions in Indonesia to enhance trade relations, develop and facilitate economic cooperation between the business communities in both countries.
