Doha: Eight new pedestrian bridges have been completed in Qatar. The Public Works Authority (Ashgal) has announced this.
Pedestrian bridges at Najma, Al Khaleez, Al Istiqlal, Al Furuziya, Onaisa, Doha Express Highway, Al Wukair Road and C-Ring Road have been completed.
These bridges will provide access to Qatar Sports Club’s Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium, Al Sadd Sports Club’s Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium and Al Ahly Sports Club’s Hamad Bin Khalifa Stadium.
The Al Furuziya Pedestrian Bridge provides smooth access for pedestrians to the Khalifa International Stadium. The bridge is designed to allow pedestrians and cyclists to cross safely.
Ashghals Bridges Project Manager Ahmed Al Mahmeed said some of the bridge designs were inspired by Qatari heritage and the FIFA World Cup.
Bridges are designed in accordance with national and international standards of high quality and safety.
