Credit organizations in Kazakhstan and Vietnam, which previously accepted Mir cards, followed Turkish banks and stopped working with the Russian payment system. It follows from the material Izvestia.

“The call center of the Vietnamese BIDV reported that they no longer accept cards of the Russian payment system “Mir” BIDV continues to service VISA, Mastercard, Western Union, JCB, UnionPay cards, but the Mir payment system is not on this list. The People’s Bank of Kazakhstan (Halyk Bank) also stopped accepting Mir cards. It is specified that Russian cards are not serviced either through terminals or through ATMs.

Against the background of sanctions from the West, the international payment systems Visa and Mastercard decided to regarding stopping work in Russia, citizens of the Russian Federation also lost the opportunity to make purchases abroad. Foreign banks started working with the Russian payment system (PS) “Mir”. Cards of this payment system were accepted in 10 countries of the world, including Turkey. Russia is actively negotiations with the countries of the Middle East regarding the possibility of using Mir cards, however, it was reported that this can interfere with the United States.
