Apple to fix iPhone 14 Pro camera shake by next week

Apple said it is working on a software update for the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max to fix a bug that causes the device’s rear camera to physically shake when used with some third-party apps.

An updated version will be released next week, according to Apple, suggesting that a workaround has already been found.

This is at least the second software fix for the iPhone 14.

On the iPhone 14 launch date, buyers were asked to update to iOS 16.0.1 to address issues with FaceTime activation.

The iPhone 14 went on sale on the 16th, with some users posting complaints regarding camera bugs on social media.

This issue, which can also cause rattling noises, is caused by the optical image stabilization hardware malfunctioning in some cases with third-party apps.

Stabilization technology is designed to move the camera system to compensate for the iPhone’s movement, preventing blurry photos.

Users have complained of bugs interfering with the camera function of social media apps like Snapchat, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook, but it doesn’t seem to affect Apple’s camera function. .

Snap Inc., the maker of Snapchat, said on the 19th that it was “working directly with Apple” to resolve the issue following receiving reports from members.

TikTok and Metaplatform, owners of Instagram and Facebook, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The new camera system on the iPhone 14 Pro, the first to feature a 48-megapixel sensor for the main lens, was one of the major hardware upgrades this year.

So far, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are the biggest hits in the product lineup.

Over the weekend, shoppers lined up at Apple dealerships to pick up the iPhone 14 they ordered, and the product sold out in several places.

Consumers who want to purchase a model through Apple’s website will have to wait until at least October to receive delivery.
