A maximum instantaneous wind speed of 50.9 meters was observed on Yakushima, where a typhoon passed through the area in the followingnoon.

In Kagoshima City, which entered the storm zone, a broken crane was found at the construction site of a 19-story apartment building. Although there was no damage, residents who would be affected if they fell were evacuated.

At a pachinko parlor in Kanoya City, the outer glass wall of the store was broken for regarding 10 meters.

Then, the typhoon moved further north and landed near Kagoshima City around 7:00 pm. The central air pressure at the time of landing was 935 hectopascals, making it the fourth strongest landing in history.

On the night of the 18th, the rain caused by the rain clouds of the typhoon intensified, and the prefectural rain gauge recorded 86 mm of torrential rain in one hour in Kirishima City. In Tashiro, Kinie-cho, the amount of rain since the beginning of the fall on the 15th exceeded 450 mm.

In addition, water levels rose in various rivers, and the Anraku River in Shibushi City and the Amori River in Kirishima City temporarily exceeded the “flood danger water level”.
