Max Verstappen can’t wait to visit the Red Bull Powertrains factory on the Milton Keynes campus. The Dutch driver has not yet been able to see it but is impressed by what Christian Horner and Helmut Marko have told him.
“I haven’t been there yet” replied Verstappen. “I’ve seen a few people and I’m hearing all the stories from Christian and Helmut too. It’s pretty impressive what they’re doing there right now, and what’s to come in the future.”
“I already spoke to Christian the last time I was at the factory and told him that next time we would go and see. We are so limited in time when I am there, it’s just simulator all day.”
“And following that I have a few media commitments. So I never really had time to go there, but next time I do a simulator session I’ll shorten it a bit and go there. -down.”
A “really high motivation”
Red Bull Powertrains continues to hire many engineers, particularly from Mercedes F1. According to the reigning world champion, this is one of the very big advantages of his team’s engine programme.
“It’s something you can’t underestimate, and I think we’re handling it in a good way. But of course we still have to wait until 2026 to see how it goes, but everyone is very positive and motivated.”
“The newcomers are very excited and it’s a new opportunity for them. They seem very happy right now and motivated to create something amazing.”
“It’s a good thing to have the commitment of a lot of important people in the team, not just on the engine side but also within the team. When you have those kinds of commitments, you can see that the motivation is really high.”
