The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 8th that domestic ventures and start-ups can grow rapidly in the global market beyond the limited domestic market. ‘K-Startup Global Entry Strategy’As part of the implementation of countermeasures, through a meeting with Korean unicorns and startups that had successfully entered Silicon Valley on the same day, they listened to difficulties in overseas expansion and discussed detailed support measures.
At the meeting, the company started in Silicon Valley and grew into a unicorn company. Sendbird CEO Dongshin Kim, Moloco CEO Ahn Ik-jin attended and gave advice and shared experiences to domestic startups for pioneering the global market.
An American venture capitalist with experience in investing in Korean startups Strong Ventures, Nautilus Venture Partnerspresented effective start-ups’ overseas investment strategies and emphasized the importance of using global funds for start-ups to enter the global market.
Korean startups planning to attract global capital investment (IR), complaining of difficulties in the process of entering the global market and difficulties in attracting foreign investment, requested continuous support from the government, and Minister Lee Young responded by saying that he would actively support it.
Minister Lee Young said, “We promise to provide support through active cooperation between ministries such as the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Ministry of Science and Technology Information and Communication so that we can enter the global market beyond the narrow domestic market. We will share our capabilities and infrastructure as much as possible and strengthen our global network to create a synergistic effect of support.”
