In the 13th minute following a corner kick by the hosts, the Belgians saved their colors from falling behind several times. Aurelien Tchouameni
Took regarding fifteen minutes to arrive in his first Derbi Madrileño. It was (understandably) obvious to the Brazilian from the start that the scandal of racism among Atlético fans didn’t leave him cold. His best action on the pitch came before Valverde’s goal, when he and Modrić duped four opponents before hitting the post. Sixth win in sixth league game! With the success in the city derby, the Italian has rounded off the fantastic strong season of the Blancos. The three-man offensive series Valverde, Rodrygo and Vinícius turned out to be a real stroke of luck. The (obvious) match plan of the “Mister”, to undermine Atlético with well-aimed balls behind the chain and to take their rhythm with a few phases of ball possession, also worked in every respect. It’s just a shame that Ancelotti was so cautious in the second round and let the opponent get close once more. REAL TOTAL-Note: 2.
