Wallonia celebrations in Namur: Three people deprived of their liberty on Saturday evening

The concentration of the public was especially observed on the places Saint-Aubain (concert of Claire Laffut, Bénabar and Ykons), Marché aux Légumes and Chanoine Descamps, but the passage remained easy.

The general atmosphere remained “festive and the climate serene”, according to the police.

A few incidents, mainly at the end of the night, are to be deplored. Cases of beatings, linked to excessive alcohol consumption, have been opened. The police intervened for eleven fights.

Three administrative arrests (two for public drunkenness and one for disturbing public order) were recorded.

Three people were deprived of their liberty, two of them for assault and battery. A third person was caught in the act of stealing from a vehicle. There are also four thefts of wallets by a pickpocket.

In all, regarding sixty interventions were counted (disturbing people, nocturnal noise, damage, theft, fights, inconvenient parking, etc.).

Saturday evening, the advanced medical post received 21 people for various reasons (excess alcohol, etc.).

Finally, a Horeca establishment was fined for non-compliance with the obligation to serve in reusable cups and non-compliance with the regulatory closing time.
