Tunisian Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, Mohamed Moez Belhassine, will lead the Tunisian delegation to the 44th edition of the Tourism Professionals Fair, IFTM Top Resa, to be held from September 20 to 22 in Paris, France, confirmed the Department of Tourism.
In a correspondence relayed Sunday in the local press, the ministry indicated that the Tunisian minister would have, on the sidelines of the event, talks with tourism professionals, ministers and officials of countries representing potential markets for Tunisia.
The Tunisian pavilion covers 100 square meters, where different Tunisian destinations will be presented, such as the island of Djerba and the coastal province of Mahdia.
According to the Tunisian Ministry of Tourism, a national tourism strategy has been put on track to revive this vital sector for the Tunisian economy during the period 2022-2024, with the aim of reaching by the end of this year, 50 to 60% of the rate of tourist activity recorded in 2019 and 80% of the indicators of 2019.
During a press conference held last Monday in Sidi Bou Said, northeast of Tunis, Belhassine said that this year, Tunisia had welcomed around 4.1 million tourists until 10 September, which was an increase of 161.4% compared to the same period of the year 2021 and a decrease of 38.1% compared to 2019.
