Perhaps the first of a long series. The Graine d’Or jewelry store, by Buirette, is organizing its first edition of the Salon du Mariage on September 17 and 18, 2022. The event, open to all, takes place rue de Rémire, in Cayenne. The facilities extend from the Grain d’Or jewelry store to the one still called Buirette, each located at the ends of this stretch of street, opposite the Cayenne town hall.
An idea set up due to a lack of events of this type, explains Sabine Wybo, organizer and communication director of the Buirette jewellers: “We participate in all the fairs in Guadeloupe and Martinique. In Guyana, we did not find an offer […] so we thought we might organize a fair.“So she called on local actors in the world of marriage to set up this show.
People came to us. We had a wedding glider from Guyana, but she stayed in Senegal. Today, another wedding glider approached me. So here it is, it’s the encounters that make the second show even more enriched. For this first, we called on stakeholders we know.

For this premiere, the jewelry store called on the help of its neighbours: the hairdresser Vogue USA and the florist Florissima. The show was also punctuated by declarations of love, live concerts or even poetry and slam, through the intervention of the slammers of the association “A fleur de mots”. “The objective is to live a beautiful moment, regarding love“, said Sabine Wybo.
And what would a wedding fair be without a wedding dress… Several designers presented their creations. The models followed one another on Saturday, on the podium installed in the middle of rue de Cayenne. The many curious people have thus discovered the wedding dresses from Otalia, or from the designer Blancoco and the stylist Stanley Fortuné.but also fine Aubade lingerie.

Among the spectators: couples and simple curious. Claude and Janaëlle settled on the steps of the Franconie Library to admire the models, like dozens of others. “We weren’t at all aware that there was something, we were passing by and we came to see out of curiosity“, they say. Even if neither of them plans to get married for the moment, they stayed for more than an hour “for the atmosphere and for the show“.
Titoune, she knew that such an event was held that day in Cayenne. She learned the information from her hairdresser, who takes care of brides. Her wedding has already taken place. Titoune simply came to “discover the new models and stylists who are in Guyana“. It has therefore been served and intends to return for the next editions. Note that the event will end this Sunday, September 18, around 2:00 p.m.
The wedding fair was held opposite the Grain d’Or jewelry store, the origin of the event.
