Intel renames Celeron/Pentium into the annals of history as “Intel processor” |

Intel has been using “Celeron” and “Pentium” as brand names for low- and mid-range processors since the 1990s, but Intel announced Friday that starting in 2023, it will all change to “Intel Processor”.

The Intel Pentium brand debuted before March 1993, and the Celeron was born in April 1998. Intel announced on Friday that it would go down in history as two of the most legendary brands, renaming them “Intel processors” to simplify Product lineup, new brand name will go into effect in 2023.

The new ‘Intel processor’ branding will simplify our offering so users can focus on choosing the processor that suits their needs.”

The update also streamlines branded products across PC segments to facilitate and strengthen Intel customers’ communication of each product’s value proposition, while simplifying the customer buying experience, Newman said.

At the same time, Intel will continue to strengthen the attention of its flagship brands Core, Evo and vPro.

It is worth noting that the name change of the low-end processor will not affect its quotation, which means that the hardware of the two major brands will continue to be produced, and only the name will be changed. Market interpretation, with the retirement of the two major brands, Intel will make new plans for its future.
