The Socialist Youth (JS) asks the Confederation to identify the companies which consume the most energy in the context of the current energy crisis. Their production must be subject to democratic planning.
The use of energy can thus be much better controlled, write the young socialists in a press release. The measures to combat the crisis must also not be made on the backs of electricity consumers, as is currently planned, they add. A resolution to this effect was voted on Saturday at the assembly of delegates of the youth party in Chur.
The JS also adopted its position paper on Europe. It demands in the short term less privatization and that the European Union becomes more democratic. In the long term, the youth party calls for a social and federal Europe.
