Actor Ahn Sung-ki revealed that he was battling blood cancer.
Ahn Sung-ki said on the 17th, “He has been battling for over a year since he developed blood cancer.”
He attended the opening ceremony of the special exhibition for the 40th anniversary of director Bae Chang-ho’s debut the day before, and rumors of health abnormalities were raised as he was supported by Kim Bo-yeon, who seemed to have a noticeably changed appearance and an uncomfortable gait.
In this regard, Ahn Sung-ki said, “If I take off my wig, I have bald hair.”
Last May, he did not show up at the funeral of actor Kang Su-yeon, whom he was close to, and he was puzzled. Ahn Sung-ki said, “I went late (for chemotherapy).” Next, she said, “I mightn’t go to the stage greeting for ‘Hansan’ because of my hair. I can’t work with this hair, and I will come back with a healthier appearance.”
Ahn Sung-ki has been engulfed in health issues since 2020. This is because she collapsed from overwork before the release of the movie ‘Paper Flower’, her lead role at the time, and was hospitalized for over ten days.
The agency, which has always denied the rumors regarding Ahn Sung-ki’s health, made an official statement on the same day as he personally revealed the fact that he was fighting the disease.
Artist Company said, “Ahn Sung-ki is currently undergoing treatment for blood cancer, and is improving as much as he is taking care of himself. I will do it,” he said.
