FIFA ratified once more Ecuador in the World Cup Qatar 2022 following a second hearing that was held last Thursday, September 15, for the case Byron Castillo once morest the National Professional Football Association (ANFP) and Peruvian Football Federation (FPF).
Through social networks, the highest soccer entity issued its resolution for the knowledge of the general public.
It is worth mentioning that, in the last hearing, the FPF joined Chile’s claim and asked that it be considered in the World Cup in case it is decided to exclude Ecuador. However, this did not happen and things remain as they were established.
IS FIFA THE LAST INSTANCE FOR CHILE AND PERU?
The answer is no. Both the ANFP and the FPF, if they are not satisfied with the response that FIFA will provide, have the alternative of taking the case to the TAS desks.
WHAT DOES CHILE CLAIM?
The National Association of Professional Soccer (ANFP) went to the desks of FIFA pointing out that Byron Castillo was not born in Ecuador, but in Colombia, and that he had falsified his identity documents. From the southern country they demand a sanction for the player and for the ‘Tri’, which might precisely be left out of the World Cup.
Of course, it is worth mentioning that in the first instance FIFA rejected Chile’s request and replied that it did not find any changes in the case.
