In the Swiss edition of this year’s EWS-E in Crans-Montana, things got really busy once more. In overcast autumnal weather, Sofia Wiedenroth prevailed once morest Florencia Espineira Herreros, while the EWS-E newcomer Ines Thoma was able to secure third place. In the men’s race, Yannick Pontal won ahead of Andrea Garibbo and Antoine Rogge.

The electric offshoot of the Enduro World Series, invented in rough Scotland, is a race for drivers in good physical condition, strong nerves and high pain tolerance: On a distance of almost 72 kilometers and 4,650 meters of altitude difference, the participants had to prove themselves in nine so-called stages last Thursday .
EWS-E Crans-Montana 2022 – the race
The town of Crans-Montana, a merger of the town of Montana and the holiday resort of Crans-sur-Sierre, is located on a high plateau in the southern Swiss canton of Valais, surrounded by snow-capped Alpine ridges. The Enduro World Series, the traditionally tough European e-bike racing format, will be held here at the weekend.

In the men’s race in Valais, Yannick Pontal from the Black Box Racing Team won with the SRAM drive prototype ahead of Andrea Garribo (Haibike) and Antoine Rogge on Lapierre. Pontal is also ahead in the annual standings, followed by Andrea Garibbo and Edgar Carballo Gonzalez.
In the women’s category, the German Sofia Wiedenroth won ahead of Florencia Espineira Herreros and her compatriot, the EWS-E debutant Ines Thoma, in third place. Espineira Herreros is now in third place in the annual standings ahead of Wiedenroth and Alia Marcellini.
