The Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. George Kallas, and in the presence of the Director General of the Ministry, Zaid Khayami, received the delegation of the Beirut Marathon Association headed by May El-Khalil and the membership of the Vice-President and Secretary-General of the Olympic Committee, retired Brigadier General Hassan Rostom and the Secretary, Media Adviser, colleague Hassan Mohieldin, and member of the Administrative Board Bashir Al-Sakka, who visited them to inform them of the latest preparations For the OMT Beirut Marathon for 2022, scheduled for next Sunday, November 13, under the slogan: “I am Beirut.”
Al-Khalil indicated that Beirut, the incubator of the race, will remain the master of cities, and revealed that the participation ceiling is 11,000 for logistical and financial reasons, including 400 professional runners from Arab and foreign countries. The race whose list includes former Moroccan Minister of Youth and Sports and current IOC member Nawal El Moutawakil.
Kallas praised the role played by the Beirut Marathon Association and believed that Hebron presents an image of the Lebanese sports woman in its highest forms and levels, in turn, Khayami praised Hebron.
