Sales had been paralyzed for a few days, due to an update to the Loto-Québec system which failed on the night of September 10 to 11.
Loto-Québec has indicated that its customers should be able to buy draw lottery tickets and check their tickets at all retailers, on lotoquebec.com and with the Lotteries mobile application.
The outage at Loto-Québec affected many outlet owners across the province, and customers were beginning to get impatient.
«[Les clients] are not happy. They don’t react very well. Customers call 10 times a day to find out if it’s working,” explains Nathalie Jolicoeur, owner of the Alimentation Jolicoeur store.
For retailers, the outage at Loto-Québec caused them to lose considerable revenue.
“It’s an add-on purchase [pour nous]. Obviously, it’s a good loss of income, ”she says.
Yesterday, Loto-Québec was betting on a return to normal on Thursday.
