Come and visit the Chantilly training center this Saturday, September 17

On the occasion of Heritage Days, the Chantilly training center will open its doors this Saturday, September 17. The opportunity to discover a mythical place of thoroughbred training in France. The famous Eagles, Lions and Lamorlaye tracks (dedicated to jumping) will be open to the general public, as well as some stables of the greatest French trainers.

Marin Lecour Grandmaisondirector of the Chantilly racecourse, tells us what to do: “From 6:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., it will be possible to visit the facilities and see the horses in training. The meeting point is at 16 avenue du Général Leclerc and shuttles will take you to meet the thoroughbreds and professionals in the exceptional setting of the Chantilly forest. Continuous visits on the slopes will be offered. If a visit has already left, people can go to another place in the center or wait in the village with the professionals.”

Thus, in the exhibitors’ village, a blacksmith will be demonstrating and the racehorse retraining association, Beyond the tracks, will present its activities. L’Afasec of Gouvieux, the veterinary clinic ofHelene Mennessierwill also be open to show the general public behind the scenes.

As for the trainers, some open the doors of their prestigious stables, often classified as heritage, to discover behind the scenes of training. “The date is not optimal, we are 15 days away from the Arc weekend, but the coaches have been opening their doors, for several years now, with pleasure”.

It should be noted that visits are free and take place without prior registration.

The day will continue in the followingnoon, at the Prince de Condé racecourse, with nine races, including three at Group level. The opportunity to continue the day with the family thanks to the free activities for children (pony rides, sack races and pony hop races, treasure hunts, merry-go-round, etc.).
