[단독] Deleted Balhae and Goguryeo… “This week’s deadline… If not corrected, artifacts will be withdrawn”

An exhibition of artifacts from the Bronze Age is being held in Beijing to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and China.

China has deliberately left out our history, Goguryeo and Balhae, from the Korean history chronology.

The Korean government has notified China to revise the chronology within a week, and if the correction is not made, we are considering withdrawing the relics from the exhibition hall.

Correspondent Lee Hae-in from Beijing visited the exhibition hall.

National Museum of China in Beijing.

The bronze ware exhibition of three countries, Korea, China, and Japan, is being held.

The Korean Pavilion, which I visited in person, is more heavily guarded.

There are two security guards in the not-so-large exhibition hall, and video recording is prohibited.

The timeline of Korean history that sparked the historical distortion controversy remains the same.

There are only Silla, Baekje, and Gaya under Gojoseon, but Goguryeo is missing, and Balhae, which should be with Unified Silla, cannot be seen.

Our government has officially requested a change, but nothing has changed yet.

At the bottom of the chronological table, it is written that this information was provided by the National Museum of Korea.

They are deliberately deleting the two countries and distorting them as if they were displaying what they were sent from Korea.

“It’s very clever and very sophisticatedly distorted history. Deleting it at all or not even mentioning it…”

The Korean government has notified China of a ‘deadline’ to revise the timeline within one week.

If it is not corrected within this time limit, we are strongly considering withdrawing the artifacts on display.

A government official said, “If the Chinese side ignores our request for revision, it will be difficult for the exhibition to proceed normally.”

It is interpreted as meaning that it will no longer participate in the exhibition scheduled for until the 9th of next month, and that it can bear the strain on relations with China.

As the scandal grew, a high-ranking official from the Korean embassy in China made a protest visit to the Chinese National Museum today.

At this meeting, it is known that the Chinese side has responded that it will reveal its position until the day following tomorrow following internally reviewing the demands of the Korean government.
