Microsoft is releasing a new Windows 11 Preview on the Windows Insider Program BETA channel. The operating system is offered in two versions.
The giant thus adopts a “secure” approach by offering two distinct versions. The former comes with new features disabled and the latter has these new features.
The versions are:
- Build 22622.598 = Rolling out new features.
- Build 22621.598 = New features disabled by default.
The most striking fact concerns the uninstallation of applications. At this time it is no longer possible to uninstall apps with interdependencies (e.g. Steam and games running on Steam) or repair Win32 apps under Settings > Apps > Installed apps. On the other hand it is always possible to modify and uninstall Win32 applications without interdependencies.
Windows 11, Microsoft continues bug fixes
On the patch side, the file explorer is the target of three patches. This only affects build 22622.598. They provide solutions to
- Launch folder windows in a separate process. In some situations File Explorer cannot be run due to a crash.
- A problem interacting with the upper part of File Explorer following a full screen mode (F11).
- An issue where command bar items such as Copy, Paste, and Empty Trash are experiencing activation issues
Added to this are two other problem resolutions. They are deployed on both builds (22621.598 and 22622.598).
Microsoft fixes a bug that caused a duplicate print queue to be created. In we have a fix around roaming user profiles. In some cases once disconnected and then connected, some of their settings are no longer restored.
The OS comes with a known issue. The network icon on the lock screen does not work. His solicitation completely blocks the lock screen. The solution is to restart the PC to connect.
