Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung said to the Yoon Seok-yeol government, “Don’t waste your nation’s capabilities on political strife, oppression of the opposition, and eliminating political enemies.”
“The purpose of all politics is to improve the lives of the people,” Lee said at a meeting of the Democratic Party’s Supreme Council today, saying, “As a proxy, I will faithfully focus on improving the people’s lives.”
“I hope that the government will put more effort into improving people’s livelihoods, establishing peace on the Korean Peninsula, and developing the Korean economy and industry,” said CEO Lee.
President Lee’s remarks seem to imply that he intends to focus on taking care of the people’s livelihood as the leader of the first opposition party, while defining the prosecution’s indictment of violating the Public Official Election Act and the police’s indictment of allegations of donations to Seongnam FC as oppression of the opposition. .
Regarding North Korea’s ‘nuclear force law’, Lee also said, “It shows the intention that nuclear weapons can be used not only for defense but for preemptive attack.”
“The North Korean authorities urge the cessation of further provocations in all its forms, even in order to increase peace on the Korean Peninsula and mutual benefit between the two Koreas,” he added.
