The entire system described above will allow users to interact with the Apple Watch if they are wearing it, or with the iPhone otherwise. At the moment of coalition, the devices react in the following way:

Compatible iPhone or Apple Watch displays an alert and sounds an alarm. If a user can, they can call emergency services by sliding the Emergency Call slider on the iPhone or Apple Watch, or dismiss the alert. If they don’t respond to the alert following 10 seconds, the device starts another 10-second countdown. In the absence of a response, the device calls the emergency services.
