D23, Ubisoft Forward, Nintendo Direct… There have been events in this new school year. Sony adds a layer of it with a nocturnal State of Play which promises to be rich in big games and surprises. With the release of God of War Ragnarok and PSVR 2 fast approaching, players are eagerly awaiting new information. from Sony and will therefore follow this event closely. So as not to miss anything of the evening, JV has of course set up several measures, starting with the classic news which will allow each announcement to be detailed. You can of course also follow our traditional Live Feed available below. The goal ? Follow live and point by point the announcements unveiled during the State of Play. The latter will begin at 11:59 p.m. French time.
God of War, PSVR 2… what to expect?
“Expect around 20 minutes of announcements, new updates and gameplay content for 10 games coming soon to PS5, PS4, PSVR 2.” These are the words that we can find on Sony’s official blog. Of course, virtual reality will be part of it. We hope to see ambitious games that will arrive on the second generation of Sony VR headset (like Horizon : Call of the Mountain or the next game from the creators of Blood & Truth) or even more information regarding the headset itself. But those twenty minutes won’t just revolve around PSVR 2 games.
Titles soon available on PS5 and PS4 will be in the game. We are obviously thinking of the long-awaited God of War : Ragnarok which is scheduled for November 9th. It’s hard to see how Kratos’ next adventures might be missing from this State of Play, especially considering the reactions of the various members of the team working on the title. But that’s not the only PlayStation exclusive coming soon. It is not impossible to see a small Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (scheduled for 2023) point the tip of his nose, or even Marvel’s Wolverine who knows.
However, according to the post we quoted above, the event will also feature ses “amazing Japanese partners”. On this side, the possibilities are numerous: Final Fantasy XVI, Street Fighter 6the remake of Resident Evil 4 or even the enigmatic pragmatic. We also think of Team Asobi, a Japanese studio that has already been able to get the best out of the first PSVR of the name with its very good Astro Bot Rescue Mission. And since we are talking regarding virtual reality and Japan, why not news of the VR version of Resident Evil Village who already briefly showed up during the last State of Play?
As you will have understood, the possibilities are not lacking but the places are limited. We repeat, only 10 games will be presented during this State of Play. Suffice to say that if you add the very likely surprises, there will not be room for everyone. We will therefore discover with you live, which were the lucky ones chosen for this State of Play back to school.
