Thiruvananthapuram – If Governor Arif Muhammad Khan does not approve the Lokayukta Amendment Bill, will it be a challenge for Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s future? Will the governor sign controversial bills by burying his opposition to protect the government’s interests? Kerala will have to wait for the answers to these two questions following September 17. After attending various functions, the Governor will return to the Raj Bhavan on the 17th. At that time various Bills passed by the Assembly including Lokayukta and University Amendment Bills will come for his assent. Will the Governor count equally on the amendment bill which cuts down the powers of the Lokayukta and the university amendment bill which includes amendments which make his powers as Chancellor irrelevant? Governor’s position should be seen. Does the BJP want Pinarayi to be in trouble by not signing the Governor’s Bills? The CBI has been continuously asking for an adjournment of the Lavlin case in the Supreme Court. The opposition is alleging that the BJP is protecting Pinarayi by delaying the case for more than five years. If the governor signs the controversial bills, the accusations of collusion between BJP leaders and Pinarayi will become stronger.
