The Observatory recorded a temperature of 35.9 degrees this followingnoon, breaking Hong Kong’s record for the highest temperature in September for the second time in nine days. More than a week ago, on September 5, the Observatory also recorded a high temperature of over 35 degrees.

The Observatory said a dry continental airstream will bring persistently hot and sunny weather to southern China from this week to early next week. Affected by the easterly air flow, the cloud cover along the south China coast will increase in the middle of next week, and the temperature will be slightly lower.

The Observatory forecasts fine and hot weather in the followingnoon and tonight, with very dry and hazy weather. Slight to moderate northerly winds; it is expected that the weather will continue to be fine, hot and dry from this week to the beginning of next week; the temperature in the urban area will reach 35 degrees in the next one or two days, with weak winds and haze.
