Dr. Hossam Mawafi, Professor of Critical Cases at the Faculty of Medicine, Kasr Al-Aini, confirmed that fever is one of the symptoms that warrant a visit to the doctor immediately, because it indicates many diseases.

Muwafi said during his program “Rabbi Zadni Alma”, which is broadcast on Sada Al-Balad channel, that the normal body temperature ranges between 36.4 and 37.2 degrees Celsius.

The professor of critical care medicine added that bacterial infection is not the only cause of fever, describing taking antibiotics when body temperature rises as a “crime.”

He explained that high body temperature may have dangerous indications, such as liver disease, rheumatic fever, cancer and brain hemorrhage, urging to go to the hospital, to find out the cause and determine the appropriate treatment, by conducting tests and analyzes.
