The draw for the 34th edition of the Arab Clubs Championship for Men’s Basketball 34 will be held in Kuwait from 5 to 15 October next, with the participation of 16 teams: Kuwait, the organizing club, Jahra and Kazma from Kuwait, and Al Ittihad Alexandria and Al-Ahly, the defending champions from Egypt, Al-Sadd and Al-Gharafa from Qatar, Beirut and Al-Riyadi from Lebanon, the Yemeni port and Al-Ahly Benghazi from Libya, Al-Ittihad Al-Halabi of Syria, the Iraqi Tigris, Al-Bashaer of Oman, Wedad Boufarik of Algeria and Al-Ahly of Bahrain.
The men’s draw will be followed by the drawing of the draw for the 23 Women’s Club Championship, which will be hosted by the Tunisian Al-Amal Tribal Club during the period from 20 to 28 January, with the participation of Al-Amal, the organizing club, Al-Hilal from Tunisia, Fuheis and Orthodox from Jordan, Mouloudia, Hussein Dey from Algeria, Sharjah, UAE, Syrian Revolution, Lebanese title holder Beirut and Smouha Al-Masry.

Wafa El-Tayeb, president of the organizing club and its founder 30 years ago, announced her team’s intention to invest in the event in order to restore the Arab title that was achieved in Morocco in 2010, taking advantage of the good preparations that followed their victory in the league and cup championships for this season, led by the Lebanese coach Izzat Ismail, who led Beirut to the previous title in Jordan and Al-Amal occupied the runner-up position, and Al-Tayeb confirmed that Arab basketball has achieved great successes under the leadership of Major General “M” Ismail Al-Gergawi, who gave great attention to women’s championships, which increased the number of teams participating in the tournaments.
