“Passports” resolves the controversy over the possibility of converting a visitor visa to a residence

Al-Marsad newspaper: The General Directorate of Passports responded to the inquiries received regarding a circulating post on social media claiming the approval of the Ministry of Interior to convert the visitor visa into a regular residence for individuals, and clarifying the documents and procedures required in this regard.

The Directorate confirmed that the instructions do not yet allow the conversion of the visitor visa to a regular residence for individuals, denying the validity of what was circulated in the publication regarding the issuance of approval and the procedures associated with it.

It is noteworthy that the General Directorate of Passports clarified that a visitor visa can be converted into a residence permit for children under the age of 18, if the parents hold regular residency.
