Montreal Canadiens forward Cole Caufield took advantage of his long summer to add some muscle to his frame.
That’s what Caufield revealed Monday on the sidelines of the team’s golf tournament to benefit the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation at the Laval-sur-le-Lac golf club.
“It was a long summer,” Caufield said during a press scrum. I was able to work on my body over a longer period of time, with a month and a half longer than the year before. I feel good. […] I gained 5 lbs over the summer.”
Caufield also welcomed the appointment of Nick Suzuki as the new team captain.
“I’m very excited for him, it’s deserved,” he said in an interview with TVA Sports journalist Renaud Lavoie. We are lucky to have someone like him. […] The way he behaves, the things he does on the ice and is good in the locker room. It is never too high nor too low. He’s the perfect guy for that.”
