During the three-day long Mid-Autumn Festival holiday (9th to 11th), the police launched a crackdown on taxi violations in Lan Kwai Fong and Soho districts in Central, focusing on overcharging, refusing to carry, and not displaying taxis during driving Table indicators, etc.

When the Central Police District dispatched officers disguised as passengers, they discovered a 58-year-old male taxi driver surnamed Fang was suspected of overcharging, and the police arrested him. In addition, three male taxi drivers, aged between 49 and 66, were issued summonses by the police for allegedly refusing to carry.
During the operation, the Police also issued a total of 22 fixed penalty notices for taxis who violated traffic signs or road markings, and illegally parked. The police appeal to the public to report the time, location, taxi license plate, driver’s name and driving route and other information if they find any illegal taxi behavior.
