Chennithala Snake Boat Accident Rakesh Death, Report on body of rakesh fell from Chennithala found out

Alappuzha: The dead body of Rakesh, who went missing following overturning near Chennithala Church last day, has been found in Achankovilat. With this, the death toll in the accident near the Chennithala church has increased to three. The bodies of two others were found yesterday.

Vinesh and Adityan are the other two who died following falling from the boat. The accident occurred when the church overturned at the quay in Valiaperumpuzha. Rakesh’s body was found regarding one kilometer away from there. After Rakesh might not be found late yesterday, the search was resumed this morning.

The accident occurred when the Chennithala church overturned while leaving for the Uthritathi boat race held in Aranmula today. The accident happened around 8:30 am on Saturday. There is a ceremony to come back following going a hundred meters to the church and then continue the journey. The accident occurred while the rowers were returning to the mosque. Chennithala is the farthest church to visit for Aranmula water festival.

It takes one and a half days to reach Aranmula from Chennithala church. The bodies of Cherukol Manasheri Vinish (37) and Adityan (17), son of Chennithala South Pariyarat Satheesan, were found earlier in Chennithala. The body of Adityan, a Plus 2 student, was found in Achankovil Att. The accident took place at Valiya Perumpuzha jetty.
